My Husband and I don’t Vote the Same

A lot of people are shocked to hear this when they strike up a political conversation and we shut it down by letting them know we are on ‘opposite’ sides. Most make the comment that they don’t know how we do it…

The truth is… We aren’t on ‘opposite’ sides.

Who he votes for doesn’t change the fact that he wakes up before me every morning to get the kids up and dressed so I can sleep an extra 15 minutes because I am NOT a morning person.

Who he votes for doesn’t change the fact that when I get home tonight, he’ll greet me with “Hey Babe, how was your day?” And is always my sounding board for whatever drama happened in my day and helps me work through it.

Who he votes for doesn’t change the fact that he will go anywhere with us, even if he doesn’t want to. He’ll put a smile on his face, hook the camper up and off we go.

Who’s side he’s on doesn’t change the fact that he’s helped hundreds of people overcome addiction and supports them in their recovery. He’s damn good at his job.

Who’s side he’s on doesn’t change the fact that he’s an amazing role model for our children.

Who’s side he’s on doesn’t change the fact that he works a lot of long hours and late nights to help support our family but leaves time throughout his day to check in with me.

All that matters is that at the end of the day, we are not on opposites sides…. him and I serve the same God and we are a team in this thing called life.

So today, I put both our ballots in the box, knowing that we voted differently, because this is America and everyone has a voice.

When it comes mortgages are concerned, "escrow" and "escrow accounts" refer to two slightly different concepts.
